Last weekend we went over to Hebden Bridge where my daughter lives. It was the town's June parade. There are lots of artisis and craftpeople locally, and they have this parade every year, making their own costumes and some larger  mobile pieces. There are usually about half a dozen different bands to accompany them. This year the theme was 'Gardens' and I snapped these 'dancing flowers' on my mobile. They were accompanied by a Samba band.

My daughter's business partner had made a wonderful dragonfly which she and her daughter carried aloft supported by poles. the larger sculptures included A queen Bee, a tortoise, a tree, the sun and lots of children dressed as lady birds and wasps.
We all walked behind the parade past the river and over the canal bridge into a very large park. there we ate the picnic which we had brought and had a lovely day.

Thanks all....yes it was a beautiful day the start of a mini heatwave, which has ended in thunder storms up here in the north. Fortunately they missed Wimbledon for our tennis fortnight.

Here is the 'queen bee' in the parade.

That's cool, Tazz.   Small parades are fun.  It looks like a "renaissance faire."
