Since the forum allows 400x400 @80k images, try it at that size. are u doing the text in the exact size? depending on the type of font used, resizing can give an antialias text jagged edges. Text looks terrible resized so exact size is the best. you can type in any size you want if it isnt in the list of sizes.

Oh, I didn't know that resizing ruins it like that. Thanks!
Did this 'See-Through Text' tut. Needs a fatter font. I used blue with a gray drop shadow rather than the black the tut called for so I'm beginning to be little more daring. I'm providing the url as it may be too big for here........
LOL..get a load of that face...LOL The text turned out pretty good, Barb! it looks blue 2 me thou. Normally see threw text would see the image threw it. The Cutout effect, with the right settings, would make it clear/see through. It really depends on the image the text is going on thou. These cutout setting are approx for clear text...vertical 2, horizontal 2, opacity 50, blur 5, checked shadow & color black, no checkmark on fill interior with color. any of these settings can be adjusted. In this image I added a white drop shadow because without it you couldnt really see the text on the dark area on the bottom.
Lana, It was hard to see the letters in yours, but I see what you mean. I checked on my pic again and it doesn't show through much at all---hmmm. Although I still like the way it turned out. I need a fatter font and to also resize the image to smaller. Thanks for the loadboy link. I checked out the tuts and saved some for later.
try dafont. http://www.dafont.com/ they have tons for free there. http://ladiehawke0.tripod.com/font.html is a list of other fonts site, many for free. Careful of the dingbats (image text)..LOL Just a note... Keep fonts out of the font folder if you plan on collecting lots. It can become addictive. Create a folder under my docs and put your fonts in there. windows only hold so many, like 1000. By opening the font file it becomes available in psp for use. just find it in the font list of psp once you have it open. Once you close it it is no longer available in psp. And you can do this for almost any program. hope that helps you find the perfect font or fonts.
I have a couple of suggestions if you are up for it. It seems to work for me on fills. Yes, make sure your antialising is on, do use feathering when you do your selection. Not too much, try 4 first - if it is too much back off - not enough increase it. That usually eliminates the white line where you didn't get fill. Also, you can gaussian blur - I do it very gradually, starting with .05 and keep going until lines or edges look smooth but not washed out.
Also - if your initial image is a file, keep it called up and go to your patterns in your fills. And it will show up there. My PSP 6 made this easy, but I know I have to go look for it in vs. 10. Still, your image can be a fill pattern (with the little paint can). This gives good distribution. I believe (10 is still new to me) when you click on the program's pattern selections, any called up image is there also.
Lastly, I use brightening/contrast and clarity on almost everything I do. So many things look one-dimensional. This will give it definition. Take it slow, like brighten 3, contrast 5 and gradually increase. It makes things look sharper without the edge sharpening sometimes does. Private mail me if you need more info, and I'll find a sample of something I've done this way. (Smiley picked by my son, Patrick)
