Hi Everybody! My name is Jim and I live in Salem, Oregon. I'm recently retired. Moved from Southern California and I am really enjoying all of the Northwest. I had a photo studio in the film days and have just restarted photogrpaphy as an avocation versus a vocation. I shoot with a Canon Digital SLR T1i and use PSP X2. I am a member of the Salem Meterite Camer Club and soon the Audubon Society.

My question is: I am planning on getting several of the NIK software plugins and want to make sure they are compatible with PSP X2. I use Windows XP on a new computer with 4 Gig ram. I also have Photshop 6 and Elements installed but I prefer PSP X2. If and when I install the NIK plugins how can I direct them to PSP versus Photoshop and Elements?

Wow Thank God I finally found you all again! My computer was down forever and have had continued problems. Lost all my bookmarks. (more then once) Plus "life" has just been keeping me busy & away. Took me forever to remember and find all my favorite places again. Have had to do a lot of refreshing of my memory on PSP and all that goes with that! LOL As soon as I joined several months ago, is about the same time I began having issues. Anyway, So glad to be here and hope to be able to visit, learn, contribute and have a great time. See ya all on the board.

On Sunday PSP did not show a selection marquee around what I had selected (with great care, using partial opacity on the Edit-Selection paintbrush and blending in the various opacities, etc.), and then, after I thought something peculiar was going on and saved the PSPIMAGE, PSP didn't save it right. 'Cause when I opened it again (after rebooting my computer, just to be safe), I was told it wasn't a valid PSP image file. When I looked for it with Windows Explorer, it had disappeared

And then my antivirus told me that there was a B00/Sinoval.E thing in my hard drive's boot sectors, all four of them because it has 4 partitions. Bad news, 'cause my computer repair person couldn't get rid of it by using the boot-sector repair disk or three other things that usually work. So reformatting the hard drive and reinstalling Windows was in order. That didn't work, either, since the evil virus was compounded by motherboard failure, or something.

Now I have a half-new computer, with an even faster dual-core processor. And I am getting some of my applications installed between judicious creations of System-Restore points.

But this time, PSP is being obstinate, telling me that I don't have the My Documents\My PSP Files folders where it wants them. That's because I have them in a subfolder of My Documents, with my other graphics stuff, and this folder is called, as it was just last week, My PSP10 Files, to differentiate it from other files and keep PSPX from snooping where it would find things that might slow it down or confuse it and make it freeze. So I did what the message told me to do, I designated a folder right away, and then I went into File > Preferences > File Locations and directed PSP to my "My PSP10 Files" folders. Twice. And I had to make new subfolders that did not exist before this installation put them into My Documents \ My PSP Files. And just now when I tried to start up PSP again, it's giving me the same message.

Edit: I gave in and copied the contents of my "My PSP10 Files" into "My Documents\My PSP Files"; that keeps the error message from appearing when I start PSP. I guess I'll have to keep both folders synchronized, since who knows where PSP will look for things? But PSP starts up faster than it did last time Windows was reinstalled, so I'll happily go along with its latest whim.

I came across this forum because I was stucked with a script I was working on. I am amazed! What a great forum is this and so big

But I will introduce myself shortly. I am Carmen from the Netherlands and I am using PSP quit a few years now. I myself have several psp-clubs where I learn other people everything they want to know about PSP. So I am already an experienced user, but nevertheless, there are moments that I am looking for some information for myself and that's how I end up here.

I am realy interested in scripting and I already made a few scripts myself, but I want to learn more and I think this is the right address for me.

I am going to look around in this forum now and see how things work here.

Greetz, Carmen
