PSP - 16 bit vs 8 bit suppport

What support for 16 bit operations is available in psp vs ps elements. Are they similar - As you may know Adobe limits the 16 bit operations in Elements vs full PS - is this also true in PSP.

If I invest in any new software I want the ability to perserve as much data in post process as possible before final output.

I'm sure all this has been hashed before - so any links etc would be helpful.

TIA

Brendan

luminance masking with psp

newbie PSP evaluation question here. I'm hoping some experienced PSP guru can respond.

I'm interested in using the techniques described below as the basis for tonal correction. However these appear to require the full version of PS, rather than ps elements. I don't own PSP but would consider it if can support the process described in the link - full PS is not worth the cost to me.

http://www.goodlight.us/writing/luminositymasks/luminositymasks-2.htm

What this basically means is a way to create multiple luminosity masks for a image with a range of tonal values (from light, light, dark, dark dark etc - see link below) etc and the creation of an action/scrript to automate the initial mask/layers creation.

http://www.goodlight.us/writing/luminositymasks/luminositymasks-5.html

TIA
BrendanC

l

Hi,

first of all I'm glad to have found a forum about using corel paint shop pro. Before I start with my problems u should excuse my poor skills in english because my mother tongue is german. Nevertheless, the reason why I need help is the wish to do the so called "tilt-shifteffect" on psp XII ultimate. As a nb with this program I don't really found a usable tutorial neither in german nor in english. The best way to learn is of course a video (on youtube) but there isn't any available. Only for adobe's photoshop you find what i'm looking for.
So if someone could make a photo-tutorial how to do this wondefull fake-miniature-effect on psp, please let me know. Thx in advance from Dresden!

Hi Everybody! My name is Jim and I live in Salem, Oregon. I'm recently retired. Moved from Southern California and I am really enjoying all of the Northwest. I had a photo studio in the film days and have just restarted photogrpaphy as an avocation versus a vocation. I shoot with a Canon Digital SLR T1i and use PSP X2. I am a member of the Salem Meterite Camer Club and soon the Audubon Society.

My question is: I am planning on getting several of the NIK software plugins and want to make sure they are compatible with PSP X2. I use Windows XP on a new computer with 4 Gig ram. I also have Photshop 6 and Elements installed but I prefer PSP X2. If and when I install the NIK plugins how can I direct them to PSP versus Photoshop and Elements?
