When lifting a part of a photo out to be reused it is sometimes neccesary to reshape blunt edges such as on this bloom.
Some photos will not clean as well as you want no matter how hard you try. This is one of them and when saved to a gif file the edges become more ragged. Too often we overwork our project and make matters worse.
I used the cut and delete method to avoid as many ‘jaggies’ as possible.
If you know what color the background is you are going to use it on it would be better to use that color and save it as a jpg.
I decided to hide as many flaws as I could by using a patterned background. A little soft drop shadow helps too.
Changing the color is an option. I used this color not because it was pretty but because I just wanted to change it.
