Cool Day by the Lake

How I did it...

Using V8.1

• a. Increased colors to 16 million
• b. Duplicated layer 3x
• c. Put pale blue layer over bottom layer and used multiply blend for the layer
• d. Used overlay blend for next layer up(copy of base picture)
• e. Used multiply blend for the top layer and adjusted contrast
• f. Used Almathera puddle filter on duplicated layer and made a lake.
• g. Moved copys so they abuted at womans feet and cropped edges.
• h. Added blank layer and used green graient to paint over grassy area and blue gradient to paint over water area.
• i. Used soft blend mode for that layer and merged
• j. Lightly touched water with green gradient at tree reflections
• Flattened image and saved.

Some Difficulties:

• a. Getting the waves to look right and the junction of where lake and ground meet smoothly.
• b. Deciding which blend modes to use on which layers

About 45 min time total.
