How I did it...

Using PSP8:   Used the freehand selection tool (smart edge>feather 2) and selected the lower half of one image. Promoted it to a layer then pasted it onto the other image.

I then used the clone brush and got rid of the person walking on the beach. I had the boat image in my archives, just resized it to suit my taste. Used the background eraser to get rid of some of the clutter and pasted it as a new layer ontop of the other project.

Adjusted the opacity down a bit, then noticed the lights shining through the bow. I didn'tlike that so, I used the selection tool again, selected just the boat, promoted it to a layer and pasted it below everything else.

Next, using the selection tool (point-to-point) copied the section of mist behind the sails and pasted it in front of them. Again, I had to adjust the opacity a bit. And that was it.

The whole process took me about15 minuets.
