Duties:  Learning Center Co-Coordinator

Bio: I am almost 63 years old  am married to a wonderful woman, Martha. We live in Bellingham Massachusetts, about 35 miles south west of Boston. We live on a small lake (Lake Hiawatha) where we have many family cookouts during the nice weather.

We have seven children, all grown and married. And, we are blessed with nine grandchildren. We also have a dog (Alaskan Husky, five cats and nine tropical birds). Some say we have a zoo. We say we have fun.

By profession I am a Social Worker and have been working with the Department of Mental Retardation at an institution for the developmentally disabled. I am about to retire after working for the state for over 30 years. Now I will be able to devote more of my time to being home and enjoying the other things we love to do such as camping, fishing, gardening, hiking and of course, using the Paint Shop Pro program.

I began working with PSP around the time I began using the internet which was in 1994. I learned how to program various languages, how to code for web pages and started developing my web site. I used PSP to create the graphics. And as many, I have become addicted to PSP.

I also run a part time on-line business of marketing affordable discounted long distance services. I love to save people money. In addition I am affiliated with an on-line home school program and teach their new students all they need to know to benefit from on-line training, including how to use computers, using the various programs of IRC, Email, Web Browsing and anything else necessary. I guess I am a teacher at heart.

Essay: I became involved with PSPUG in the summer of 2001 responding to a newsletter article that was inviting people interested to volunteer. I became a teacher and tutorial writer and now am assisting in the Learning Center. The most exciting aspect of my involvement in PSPUG is that I am learning so many new things about PSP. I look forward to many more such experiences as well as friendships with people such as I have already met.
