| Creating a gingham background. |

Open a new image:
20x20 pixels
Background = white |
| |
 |
Select the Zoom Tool.
Zoom in on your image 3 or 4 times until you can see clearly. |

Set foreground color to Red = 207, Green = 207, Blue = 255.
Set background color to Red = 231, Green = 231, Blue = 255. |

Double-click your Selection tool, set the coordinates at:
Left = 0
Right = 10
Top = 0
Bottom = 10
to select the top left corner. |

Select the Floodfill tool:
PSP 5:
Fill Style = Solid Color
Match Node = None
Tolerance = 0
Opacity = 100 |
PSP 6:
Fill style = Solid Color
Blend mode = Normal
Paper texture = None
Match mode = None
Tolerance = n/a
Opacity = 100 |
Click into the selection to fill it with the foreground color. |

Double-click your Selection tool again, set coordinates at:
Left = 10
Right = 20
Top = 0
Bottom = 10
to select the top right corner. |

Select the Floodfill tool again, leave the settings as are, but this time right-click into your selection to fill it with the background color. |

Double-click your Selection tool once more, set coordinates at:
Left = 0
Right = 10
Top = 10
Bottom = 20 to select the bottom left corner. |

Select your Floodfill tool and again right-click into the selection to fill it with your background color. |
