Christmas Bauble

A simple animation technique that can be used for any occasion with any image.



 



 
 


Step 1
The first step is easy just pick a picture of your choice.
Next use View || Image Information, write down the image dimensions width is the first number. Now click New ,
Use these settings
Width = width of your image
Height = height of your image
in pixels.
Resolution = 72 pixels/inch
Background colour = White
Image type = 16.7 million colours
Do this twice and save one as Blank.
 
Step 2
Next we need to remove the colour from our image. 
We do this by 
Colours || Channel Splitting || Split to RGB. 
This will produce three Greyscale pictures one for the Red one for the Green and one for the Blue.
Choose the one that looks best for the picture that you are using for the Bauble, Blue was the best choice.
 
 
 Step 3 
Click on the Greyscale image to make it active (The top bar turns Blue when active) next place the cursor in the top left hand corner so that the co-ordinates on the Status bar read (0,0) press and hold the left mouse button and drag the cursor across and down the image so that the co-ordinates on the Status bar read (0,0)-(177,10) 177 is the width of the bauble image yours may be different.Press Ctrl C, now make the new blank image active and press Ctrl E, Place the image at the top of the blank canvas Click right mouse button to deactivate selection.
Go to File || Save As and save as Xmas 2
 
Step 4
Repeat step 3, This time starting at co-ordinates  (0,10) and finishing at (0,10)-(177,20) and save image as Xmas 3
 
Step 5 
Keep repeating Step 4, each time starting the cursor at the same co-ordinate as the last co-ordinate from the previous step i.e.:
(0,0)-(177,10)
(0,10)-(177,20)
(0,20)-(177,30)
(0,30)-(177,40)
(0,40)-(177,50)

The image opposite is Xmas 16 for the bauble animation.
 
 Step 6,
Here is Xmas 24 of the animation Bauble and this is as far as we go with the Grey scale image.
 
 Step 7 
Now we need to rebuild the  image so make the colour image active and place the cursor in the bottom right hand corner,press and hold the left mouse button and drag the cursor up and to the left until the co-ordinates read, for the Bauble yours will be different ,
(177,238)-(0,230) we go to the nearest tens unit so that we can keep moving up in tens,press Ctrl C, make the Grey scale image active and press Ctrl E, place the image at the bottom of the picture and deactivate the selection go to 
File || Save As and save as 
Xmas X (X is the next number in your progression)
 
 Step 8 
Repeat step 7, This time starting at co-ordinates  (177,230) and finishing at (0,230)-(0,220) and save image as Xmas X.
Remember these co-ordinates are for the Bauble, yours will be different.
 
 Step 9
Keep repeating Step 7, each time starting the cursor at the same co-ordinate as the last co-ordinate from the previous step i.e.:
(177,238)-(0,230)
(177,230)-(0,220)
(177,220)-(0,210)
(177,210)-(0,2000)
 

The image opposite is Xmas 37 for the Bauble animation.
 
 Step 10 
This is the final image Xmas 48 of the anim Bauble, You can see that the last piece is missing, this is because if we add the last piece we end up with a duplicate of the Colour image that we started with.
 
Step 11
Activate the colour image and press Ctrl C followed by Ctrl V this will will give us two colour images click on the one that you have just created to make sure it is active, select the text tool  on the tool palette and click inside the image, choose what Name Style and size of font you would like.Other settings
Alignment = Centre
Floating = Checked
Write a message of your choice and click OK. Place the message where you like in the image.
Step 12
On the menu bar click File || Run Animation Shop.
When loaded click on Animation Wizard,
Check same size as the  first image frame,Click next.
Check transparent, Click next
Check Centred in Frame.
Check With the canvas colour.
Click Next.
Check Yes,repeat animation indefinitely.
Displayed in (1/100th of a second)
make this figure 5 for now.
Click next.
Step 13
Add images from file where you saved them all, Start with blank image then add image 2,3,4,5,6 etc:until all theGreyscale images are added, add the full Grey scale image last. Now add the image that starts the colour fill 7,8,9,10,11,12,etc finish with the full colour image followed by the image with the message
Click next and Finish.
Click View Animation tool to see your animation.
Right click with the right mouse button on the full Grey scale image, click properties and change the display time to 120.
Do the same for the full colour image and the same for the message image but make the display time for the message 240 to give people time to read it.
