First you will need the Almathera Puddle Filter. Click on the link to the left to download all the Almathera filters. You will also need to download the tiger zip. After you have downloaded them, unzip the filters to your plugin folder and the tiger image to your favorite directory.

Ok let's start by opening the tiger image that you unzipped. We will need to make 3 copies of the image.
Go to your copy button and click on it. Then go to the paste button so that it will paste a new image. Do this 3 times. You will then have a total of 4 images. Go ahead and close the original. Now you can also minimize 2 of the images.
We are going to make our selection. So click on the lasso tool and use these settings:

Selection Type: Freehand
Feather: "0"
Antialias: UnChecked
Sample Merged: UnChecked

Now take the lasso tool making sure to hold the left mouse button constantly while tracing the area of the water you will want animated. When you are done tracing you can then let go of your mouse button. (If you mess up with your tracing just hit the undo button until you get it the wat you want. It may take a few tries. It did for me...LOL!) Keep the marching ants around your image and to edit - copy.
We need to feather our image so go to selections - modify - feather. Change the pixels to 4. Then click ok.
Time to add the first round of the filter. Go to image || plugins || Almathera || puddle.
Use the following settings:

Reflection: "165"
Displacement: "7"
Lighting Strength: "45"
Perspective: "3"
Scale: "20"

When you are done changing the numbers go ahead and click ok. Go to selections - select none and your done with the first image. Now you need to save it. Just go to file save as 1.psp. You can now close that image out.

Open image 2 and go to edit - paste as a new selection. Make sure that you line it up perfectly. We also need to feather the selection again. Use the same settings as before. Time to apply the puddle filter again. Use the settings below:

Reflection: "165"
Displacement: "7"
Lighting Strength: "45"
Perspective: "3"
Scale: "25"

Click ok and deselect your image. Save it as 2.psp and close it.

Open image 3 and go to edit - paste as a new selection. Line it up perfectly and go to selections - modify - feather and use the same settings as before. Apply the puddle filter again. Use the settings below:

Reflection: "165"
Displacement: "7"
Lighting Strength: "45"
Perspective: "3"
Scale: "30"

Click ok and deselect your image. Save it as 3.psp and close it.

Ok time for the magic. Let's open up Animation Shop by going to start - programs - Paint Shop Pro 5 - Animation Shop. When A.S. opens up click on the animation wizard.

Use these settings:

Same size as first image frame.
Transparent
Upper left corner & canvas color
Yes...Repeat animation 25
Click on add image, find 1.psp and double click it. Go back & do the same for 2.psp & 3.psp.

Then click next and then finish.

Time to view your animation. Click on the view animation button. If you like what you see go ahead and save it. Go to file save and give it a name. Your done!!
This is what your final image should look like.
When using other pictures for this tutorial, you may have to use different Almathera settings. Just play around with the settings and you will come up with the water effect.
