Kaleidoscope Backgrounds
Created by: Kawliga

This tutorial was created using the Bubbles tutorial. You will need to do that tutorial first before you can do this tut.
Download this tutorial fileDownload file

First you will need to go and download Filter Factory A. Click on the link to the left to go there.

Let's start by opening a new image, 150 x 150, 16 million colors and a transparent background. Use the Bubble tutorial to fill up your image. If you want you can put each "bubble" on their own layer so that you can move them around until you get the positioning that you want.
Now that you have all your bubbles where you want them, go to effects - plugins - FF A - kaleidoscope. This is where you can have some fun.
The settings I used to get this look is:

Divisions: "224"
Rotation: "19"

Now keep in mind these pictures have been optimized for faster downloading so the quality isn't as good. Yours will look much better. I will show you a few examples of the ones I made to give you some ideas.

The settings I used to get this look is:

Divisions: "182"
Rotation: "48"

The settings I used to get this look is:

Divisions: "170"
Rotation: "176"

The settings I used to get this look is:

Divisions: "144"
Rotation: "255"

You can also change the opacity of your image to give it a softer look if the colors you choose were bright. All that is left to do is save your image and you can use it for a neat background for either a webpage or email stationary. Just play with the settings and see what you can come up with.
